Busy Mom Meals are awesome...

**Two posts in two days! Yippee!**

I was tired last night.  Tired is an understatement, really.  However understated it may be, I was tired enough that I just was not up to the complicated dinner I had originally planned.  So it was off to Pinterest to see if I could find anything that was not only tasty but quick and easy.

Believe it or not, it took me maaaaaybe 30 seconds to find the perfect recipe.

Chicken Bundles.

Have you ever heard of them?  I definitely haven't.  But the picture made them look amazing and the ingredients were simple.  On top of that, it only takes 30 mins from start to finish.  And when they were finished, they quickly disappeared.

Seriously.

My family ate them so fast, I couldn't even get a picture.  Be that as it may, I decided I have to share this amazing recipe with  you.

Chicken Bundles
Ingredients for Chicken Bundles

• 4 oz. cream cheese, softened

• 1-13 oz. can chicken (or equivalent cooked chicken)

• 1 Tbs. sesame seeds

• 1/4 tsp. parsley

• 2 cans Pillsbury Crescent Rolls - leave in fridge until ready to use!

• 1 Tbs. finely chopped onion or dried minced onion

Directions:Combine the above ingredients (minus the crescent rolls) and mix well.
Open one 8 count package crescent rolls. DO NOT divide into triangles. Keep every 2 triangles together, forming 4 rectangles.
Put a spoonful of chicken/cream cheese mixture into the center of each square. Fold the corners up into the center, layering like flower petals so the roll is sealed. (Don't stress too much on the technique, fold them up press seams together to make a bundle.)
Repeat with all 8 rectangles. You're going to worry that you're doing this wrong, but you're not, just do it, I promise they'll taste delicious.
Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.

DIY Day! (Guess what I've been up to?)

I promised myself a while ago that just because I'm pregnant does NOT mean I have to blow this blog up with all baby items.  I don't have to share with you every single baby craft I work on or baby item I think I need.

But I don't think one time is really "blowing up the blog."  Yep.  I can't resist sharing.

(Don't worry, Jon... No diapers. Today.)

If you know me at all, you know that I'm pretty much hooked on all things attachment parenting.  Like carriers. I love love LOVE baby carriers. I'd own a dozen of nearly every style if I had the funds.

There's my problem with baby carriers.  They aren't cheap.  Don't get me wrong, they're well worth the money put into them.  I mean, you can use them for 3 years per child (or more, depending on weight) and as long as you treat your carrier nicely, resale value stays pretty high.

But like I've said before, I'm too much of a cheapskate crafter to spend tons of money on... well, nearly anything.  Even if it looks like this.

Gorgeous, right?  But it's $55. For something I'd be afraid to get baby drool on.  (But don't let my thought deter you! The sling is gorgeous. Someone else buy it before I break down and do it.  It's available at Child of Privilege, a well reputed etsy shop!)

So I decided to make one.  Wouldn't be the first time but for some reason I was stuck on what I wanted it to look like.

Until I came across this.

Oh, Hobby Lobby.  You are a danger to my wallet.  I loved this fabric as soon as I saw it.  And ended up buying half a yard for $3.  And as soon as I brought it home, I knew exactly what I was going to do.  A few days later, this little gem was brought to life.

Ah, bliss.  Am I allowed to tell you how thrilled I am with the outcome of this one?  It looks even better on but you're not getting a pic of my pregnant self wearing this anytime soon. However, once Belly Baby makes his debut, expect a million!

You;d think I'd stop there. Buuuut no.  I decided to throw together a quick woven wrap.

5.5 yards of unbleached cotton osnaburg, hemmed and braided to broken in.  All it needs now is to be dyed.  

Of course,  I do love this color....

So that's what I've been up to.  Making carriers and planning new ones while I daydream about a Didymos Silver Waves.

That's a pretty carrier.

Pinterest Pick of the Week: Spoonflower, baby!

I know you're expecting a craft.  Or maybe even a recipe.  But today, I'm not going to give you either of those. Instead of that, I'm going to share with you my newest obsession.

So for a few weeks now, I've been seeing these prints pop up all of Pinterest.  I thought they were just pictures or print outs until curiosity got the better of me and I actually clicked a thumbnail.

These prints aren't pictures or print outs at all.  They're fabric swatches.  Fabric swatches from the amazing company, SpoonFlower.com.

(Somewhere, my husband is rolling his eyes.  He's tired of hearing about fabric, I think.)

Brilliant!  And this is just a sampling of the amazing fabrics that are available.  Not only that, if you for some odd reason can't find a fabric you absolutely love, you can design your own.

You. Can. Design. Your. Own.

Amazing.  And at $16.20 a yard, it isn't going to set you back too much.

So get on there, buy some fabric, make some curtains or a tote.  Or just look at it.  Which is pretty much my plan.

Keeping It Clean: DIY All Purpose Spray

It's been a while since I've given a good cleaning recipe and with the buzz all over the boards about DIY cleaners, I think it's high time I share another.

There are a million different cleaners available on the market for a million different things.  Yet the one that most of us is most interested in is an All Purpose cleaner.  After all, there's something seemingly easier about using a cleaner that cleans darn near everything.  Not only are they convenient, most aren't terribly pricey either.

The problem with store bought cleaners isn't really the price though.  It's the ingredients.  I mean, do you have ANY idea what's in those store bought cleaners?  Nothing you really want your kids or pets around, for sure.  It was that thought that led me to start making my own.

Now there are several recipes available all over the internet.  However, it took some playing around with a few recipes and tweaking things to my liking to come up with the perfect all purpose cleaner. Not only is it safe and effective, it actually is cheaper to make it than buy.   And it only takes a few minutes to make.  Perfect for people who are big on green cleaning but short on time.

Sugar Crumbs Quick and Easy All Purpose Cleaner

First, you'll need a few basic ingredients.

• 1/2 cup of vinegar
• 2 tbsp of baking soda
• a squirt or so of Castile Soap
• a few drops of Tea Tree Oil

In a small bowl, combine the vinegar and baking soda.  Allow it to sit until the fizzing stops.  (Feel free to giggle over the reaction.  It always brings me back to elementary school, volcano days!)

Once it stops fizzing, transfer the mixture to an empty spray bottle.  Fill the bottle nearly to the top with HOT water.  Make sure it isn't completely full, though, as you need room for the last ingredients. Then add the castile soap and the tea tree oil.  Close the bottle and shake. 

And there you have it!  Super easy but totally effective home made cleaner.  If you don't like the smell, you can always add a few drops of essential oil to the mix.  Essential oils are readily available at craft stores.
